Journal of a time traveler Chapter 2

Past is the future

”Then you already know the end of the mission!”

”The part of me dealing with this issue has no knowledge of that planet’s present. The last piece of information I have will be several month in the future of your transfer date there. That planet past is my present as it will be yours. Once you arrive, my knowledge of the immediate future will gradually become obsolete as you will change the reality on the ground.” (more…)

Ch1. The Gale crater

My hands look odd, long and lumpy fingers. Strong fingers. This is the first thing I acknowledge after opening my eyes on the new training field. Everything around is red. I am on a kind of caldera limiting the horizon to only a few kilometres. Somewhere in front of me a volcanic cone is towering over everything else, the only visible thing outside the crater trap.  I switch my attention back to my body. The same weird look as my fingers. I am tall, very tall, difficult to estimate, maybe more than two and half meters. I lost the battle with Houston about genetic transformations on alien planets after she let slip to me that this already happened -several times in previous training trips.

I start to move and a red dust floats after each step. “Is this Mars?” I ask my invisible Cerberus. (more…)

Ch1. Rite of passage

A broken sun is shining in pieces, floating in the cold water – a net of turquoise and glittering gold sparkles. In fact it is not cold, it is refreshing. All my muscles, in the effort of pushing me against the waves, are cooled by its gentle touch. The shore is fading like a Fata Morgana after almost half hour of hard swimming – the still visible bunch of palms is no larger than a discreet bouquet on  a yellow plate of sand. I was assured of no sharks swarming on this planet, and I am keeping my promise of training heavily.

Even with all this effort I still have a feeling of cheating. It is more like a holiday, in fact many short holidays spread on different planets and landscapes people cannot even dream at, none of them longer than one day. Probably I am still not prepared enough for longer endeavours, I forgot to ask if there is anything else dangerous, apart sharks, in these exotic waters – another bad mark in Houston’s notes for sure: “When you are in this kind of travel you have to pay attention to the environment.”  The whip burns on my shoulders are still lingering within my mind so I whisper softly as looking for soothe: longer they are more dangerous they are. I am sure that time will come one day, she is very good in calibrating my training. I sense each day a raise in the dosage oh effort I have to sustain. Still I cannot escape this cheating sentiment. Time travel to Egypt part 4

My Egypt time travel lasted much longer than the promised three hours. My second week already and I am becoming an involuntary historian of the most exciting experience I have ever had. I have enough information accumulated to write not one but several books, but who will believe even an iota? I am a time traveler! I never told them that I will be the sole beneficiary of their story, if I don’t take the Gate into account of course, she will squeeze my mind for every bit of information. They opened their souls to make me and my own timeline humans aware of the deed and work they were doing in Egypt, and the kind of moral evolution they wanted to shape. They were aware of the past interferences which affected us in such a bad way, interferences we never had any idea that ever existed.  They were trying to teach the people of Egypt love as the most beautiful experience in the Universe. Aton was created as a unique God impersonating an abstract thought and they tried to spread his acknowledge as far as possible. They liked their “job” yet still they wanted to return to their world as Earth was taking a toll on their health. (more…)

Time travel to Egypt part 3

The long corridor was full with unmistakable Amarna style sculptures and finished in a large polished door. Aton solar disk guarding the entrance started to glide smoothly away in twin golden halves, the door was opening to let us pass. Inside a filtered light inviting sleeping or meditation made visible a tall man sitting in well lit corner heavily absorbed
by a papyrus. Close to him a woman of remarkable beauty. A young, thin handler in a white dress practically hanging over his tiny frame ushered us in, Ahmose the scribe was already there. The famous sculpture now in Louvre and that wonder is the painted limestone in the Berlin museum made clear to me who the actors were: Akhenaton and Nefertiti. All the unimpressed feelings from before suddenly passed away, this time I almost physically felt the strike of Ancient Egypt falling on my soul, it was like suddenly being part of an old fairytale which happened to be a true one, with my exception of course. I was the fake in the picture and by unknown reasons this did not diminished its value. “Be yourself” Ahmose whispered to me, “He is already aware of who you are” and
after a short pause while his eyes tried again to evaluate me: “you will find many things in common with Him.” I gazed at his face, trying to weigh up his latest words, but he clearly made a sign that this is all he can endow with. Nefertiti acknowledged our entrance and made an approach sign while her face opened in the most serene smile I ever witnessed: be welcome in our land of bliss and sorrow traveller from the stars. Her impact was seething within me a chaotic mass of thoughts and feelings, shielding for long seconds my mind from her words. I was remembering only bliss, sorrow, stars and traveller not yet
fully aware about their sense but at least I had the readiness of mind to bow politely. Still caught under her spell I was awaked by his deep voice:

“Ten years already passed since the last traveller visited Earth, are you bringing some news from your people? Will they help us to return our homes?” If I was disconcerted by her words he was completely sending me in the fog. Probably he felt my disorientation: “are you the proper owner of that belt?”

My words were going out slowly as they were hurting me:  “I am only a passenger owner; this thing only belongs to itself.”

“That can be the truth even when other said different things in the past.”

“It is the truth as truth it is that I am not a traveller from the stars.” His eyes were contracting to almost a thin line, but his voice showed no change in temper yet. “This also can be the truth even if I find to be a hard one to explain.”

“Still it is the truth, I come from Earth, just that not this moment Earth.” The silence between us becomes almost solid when she broke it: “Are you trying to tell us about you being a time traveller from future Earth?”

“Indeed I am that kind of traveller. I am your guest or prisoner or whatever you want to consider me.”

“You are not a prisoner.”

“Then please allow me a question”, and as he nodded to me: “I entered here with all my knowledge telling me I will found an ancient pharaoh and his wife, both famous in our history. I am able to see the royal pair but I am unsettled to see more than this. Will you help me to settle this riddle?”

They looked at each other for a moment, then after a sign all people in the room went out apart the scribe and the young girl then she broke again the silence: “Probably that our slightly different humanoid shape is already telling you facts you don’t want to acknowledge yet, indeed both of them had the same elongate skulls like the girl with much higher cranial capacity. We are humanoid in shape but not humans, we are not from
Earth. Our space vessel broke while in Sol orbit and we made emergency landing
on your planet, your ancestor’s planet

Ch. 1: Egypt time travel II

Probably you are wondering why I am not talking about the beauty of the city, about the
monuments which no modern human has ever seen in their full splendour. It’s a curious feeling, but while I was very impressed by the ruins of old civilizations, Egypt included, even overwhelmed in some cases, I never had a similar sensation whilst walking in this new-old city.  It’s simply human nature; it appears so actual, so fresh, that I cannot give it the same respect I gave to the ruins of the same city. You cannot feel respect for a young child even when it looks so beautiful. In the end the difference was made by the awesome experience of the city’s own life. A day of Amarna’s life.

I was wandering, without direction, in the Central City, picking at my fish from time to time, soaking up that magical atmosphere. A furious whip sound broke the murmur of the city followed by a sudden burn on my right shoulder. I realized that all the people were bowing deeply and after a short hesitation I did the same. Too late. I felt a sharp pain again on both my shoulders this time, while the whip cracked the silent tension in the crowd. (more…)

Time travel to Egypt part 1

I don’t feel any moment the need for a speech comparing my steps with steps for mankind. Maybe for the simple reason that I have had no contribution in the making, there is no audience to impress, or I am just too scared. In movies you see a strange field of force like a suspended fluid; you touch the field, smile for the camera, keep your breath and jump. Here was nothing: Closed the eyes at home opened them in Egypt under a bright sun. The ancient Egypt. (more…)
