Time travel to Egypt part 1

I don’t feel any moment the need for a speech comparing my steps with steps for mankind. Maybe for the simple reason that I have had no contribution in the making, there is no audience to impress, or I am just too scared. In movies you see a strange field of force like a suspended fluid; you touch the field, smile for the camera, keep your breath and jump. Here was nothing: Closed the eyes at home opened them in Egypt under a bright sun. The ancient Egypt. (more…)

First contact (end of chapter 2)

“Do you have contracts?”

“I used a term you will understand. If you can convince me that the mission should be stopped or that is already accomplished it is not considered unilateral leave.”

“So we are in direct contact all the time?”

“In a way, but it is too early to discuss this.”

“It is never too early to understand the danger I will face in time travels.”

“This is not about danger, but about technology and ways of working.” (more…)

First contact

I started to sit more often in the garden instead of hiking in weekends. The weather was more like late autumn than late summer so I had a good excuse, but to be honest it was more about trying to re-enact dreaming, and trying to have them in a safe place like the chair in my garden, not in a car or walking on the street. The famous glass of wine was also there but to no avail. I tried with both hands, half empty, full, empty, with the left eye, the right one, both open, both closed, almost one month of hard trying with absolute no success. But even with this small stress, the process was still enjoyable. Maybe I should change my job; wine taster is much more pleasant, even romantic compared to the dull process of doing business and code review

“Do you like it?” I turned around to see the owner of the strange voice. In fact the voice by itself was more pleasant than strange. A pleasant feminine voice, only the feeling that I had never heard it before was strange, and the sudden apparition in my garden.  I saw no one, decided there was no voice and I slipped back in reverie status waiting for my personal Godot dream to come back. Dreams and layoffs

Third lucid dream

My problem at that time was, as you probably started to guess, related to dreaming. Not dreaming in the sense of a vision, thinking at something special that I wanted to fulfil, like save the planet, my country, not even my small town. I am a normal bachelor, having the odd relationship, moderately happy and at peace with his own place in society; some
friends, a good job, travelling for fun not exactly an explorer, always going to interesting yet safe places with at least a comfortable 3* ranking. The average Joe. It is about dreaming while sleeping, or at a later phase even when being awake, but in a state of relaxation hovering on the edge of sleep. You will say that people dream, this is a normal state of our brain in diverse phases of activity, still mine were so vivid and so real that at times I was not able to differentiate the reverie from reality which led to a long cortege of problems, something is dragging me into dreams in which I lose myself.

The third dream

The hall is large and looks old,  a Gothic castle it seems from the doorway and arches.  An old man sits impassively in his chair in front of an ancient, partly ruined, fireplace without any visible gesture of approval or disapproval about my sudden apparition. The chimney fire subtly changed his colour, and shadows played hide and seek with his piercing eyes in the low light of the dusk, while his long hair and flowing beard were of a terrible and intensely white hue. Before him, a skull-cap and a long mediaeval tunic of dark colour are unorderly discarded on the table. The crackling and hissing wood fire sound was the only thing in the hall giving me any sense of calm. (more…)

The second dream

Rain was coming from the low, almost touching ground, clouds and my mind was still wandering, far away, linked to the office problems, when a  sun ray suddenly touched
my face. I raised my head only to see the clear sky, the clouds were missing.  I raised my head only to see the clear sky, the clouds were missing. I looked down and my car vanished. Not only my car, but every other car in the car park, and the car park itself. All gone. The road was still there and the forest too, a little bit different, but still there, the whole place was both different and the same.  (more…)
